"One of my pigs you say?" - Glim sighted thinking about the posibility - "And?" - his voice became harsh - "Why didn't you tell me this, last night?" - he closed in to Chirando - "Well?! Speak you halfling!!!"

"You?!" he scoffed - "You, handel my pigs?" - you could see he wasn't in a good mood - "Next time it happens you come straight to me." - he paused for a minute - "Quick now, show me where are the pigs in question..." - he began to walk in ernest, talking to himself - "He thinks he can handel it... bah... these wizard types think they can always fix the world. Who knows maybe it's a disease, it can spread to the others." - he stoped in his tracks - "Next time! Come to me!" - he looked angry - "Move, hafling, we haven't got all day !"
"What was he thinking?" - Glim said to himself while waiting for Chirando.

"So?!" - Glim barked - "Where are the sick pigs?"- both Chirando and Glim were leaning on the stick fence of the pig pen. Chirando could pick a number of random pigs and hope that some of them will have some issues, or he could make magical simptoms appear on the pigs, not life threatening but enough to convince Glim of their sickness. But what about Lord Steerforth and his no magic policies. Is he that powerful? And more so was Chiando prepared to test that statement?

Glim scoffed:"Is that your professional opinion?"
The pig herder didn't wait for the answer and jumped inside the pig pen and tried to corner a pig. With mud flying everywhere and pig screams shrieking to higher levels, glim turned to Chiarndo.
"Jump in and help me !"

Gilm corenered the pig, but Chirando did well to brace himself. Mud flew and the pig darted by the pig herder, running into Chirando. The half-elf was prepared and leaped on the pig. Chirando tried to hold on for dear life but the pig was having terror pump his heart and muscles.
The pig sliped by Chirando, the half elf cornering it into a corner. Will he try again or wait for the herder?

Chirando was holding for dear life, with the pig between his arms. The herder joined the comotion. While with one hand he held the pig, in the other hand he held a knife.
When the pig was still enough, the herder used the knife to shave off some hair of the pig. He colected his sample and instructed the elf to let the pig go.
"Hafling!" - he said looking at a mud covered Chirando - "Go to the gates and call my nephew!"

The half-elf was standing in front of the gates of Warwick, knowing Sir Heap, the pig herders nephew, was stationed there. Chirando said: "We are in need of the nephew of the pig herder !" - practically shouting the entire sentince.
Sir Heap darted from below the gate, grabbed Chirando by the arm and in a whispered, yet annoyed voice he said:
"Never do that again!" - his eyes became red - "I have a reputation to keep here, half-breed." - he calmed himself down.
"May Highfather forgive my unbounded anger." - he raised his eyes to the sky and he mumbled a prayer.
"If you have news from my uncle come to me in a more... subtle way. Or this sword will do some elven flesh cleaving. Are we clear?"

"You don't need to explain yourself half-breed, I'm not intrested. Make sure this is your last slip up from you." - when Sir Heap ended that sentince you could not see if he was mad with anger or sadistically happy of the prospect of some elven directed unbriddled violence. Sir Heap turned towards the gates.
"Half-boy here has lost the pig herders nephew..." - his eyes darted on Chirando letting out a sarcastic smile and then continued - "... I will go see if I can find him." - he began walking down the road.
"What ar you waiting for leaf lover? Walk already!"

After going a bit fuurther from the gates, Sir Heap slowed down so the half-elf could catch up with him. When he felt Chirandos presence near him he said:
"What does my uncle want with me, bark muncher" - Sir Heaps voice was troubled but that didn't spoil one bit his arogant stance towards Chirando.

"I doubt that." - Sir Heap lingered near Chirando - "He... hasn't let anyone help him to much with the pigs since he has arrived here, not even his relatives." - Sir Heap stopped, looked at Chirando not bealiving what he was talking with the half-elf.
"Why am I even talking with you about this?"

Sir Heap puffs rather arogantly at what Chirando says. His steps become quicker, just short of running.
In a short time they arrived back at the Pig Herders House. Glim stood, guarding the front door, eyes fixed on Chirando. And after nodding to Sir Heaps greeting, he said:
"Hafling did you see a wolf in the barn this morning?"

Hearing the words coming out of Chirandos mouth made the pig herder burst into a fit of rage. The half-elf was pushed against the stick fence and corenered by Glim and Sir Heap.
"Of course I'm talking about the almost dead one in the barn, half breed! - Glim shouted with all the might his lungs could gather. He grabbed Chirandos clothes and pushed him harder in the stick fence - "If there was one incredibly stupid decission, you - halfbreed, have done it !" - Glims nostrilss were flared up and Sir Heap was reaching for his sword, smilling all the way.
"You do NOT, let such a dangerous creature of the forest linger around and not tell me!" - Glim contiuned with the same enraged tone - "Do you understand!" - he tried to make his point clear, as the fence cracked and whistled under the new strain.

Sir Heap unholstered his sword and with glee on his face said:
"Shoud I go kill the wolf, uncle?" - Sir Heap began making steps towards the direction of the barn.
"No! Wait." - Glim stopped him, raising his arm - "Wait there for a moment" - he said as his eyes fell again on Chirando. Trying to burn holes in him with his eyesight only.
"Be warned half-breed. If you ever are deceitful with me again, I swear by the Highfather, I'll cut your life short. Clear?"

"Are you actually threatening my ward?!" came a feirce voice from behind the pig herder. Stunned at the sudden intrusion, the three turned to see Lord Steerforth trotting slowly towards them on his massive warhorse. "While I left him to your grace, I did not allow for any attempts on this halfling's life."
"But, Sire! He allowed a wolf into my stys!"
"You twit!" Steerforth snarled at Chirando, "Don't tell me you brought that rabid steed of yours to be stabled here!"
"No sir! Worse!" Glim snapped triumphantly, "He allowed some stinking wild animal, sick and dangerous into my pens, and then hid it from me!"
The anger slowly dwindled from Steerforth's face to a low simmer. His eyes flickered from Glim to Chirando to Heap, guaging with his aging mind. "Is that so... Tell me halfbreed, did you allow the animal into the sty? Why? And why not tell the pig herder?"

"You have choosen to live with us, half-breed. That means you have to make our rules your own" - said Glim takin a step back, still angry. Then he looked at Lord Steerforth.
"I have to speak with you about the wolf, mylord." - he paused - "In private..."
