Description:
Standing at 5'11", Rave has a lean build which he keeps hidden in his black leather clothing. Around his neck is a, now dull, brass pendant bearing the Corrigan family crest. His wavy chestnut brown hair and same colour eyes enhance his handsome features however he usually keeps this hidden behind the heavy leather hood attached to his leather jacket. Hanging from his right thigh is the only visible weapon upon the wanderer, a knight's dagger bearing his family's crest which he stole from his father when he ran away. Even though it is there, Rave rarely uses this family dagger for actual combat. Instead he wears a harness that's worked into his dark shirt and hidden by his black jacket. This harness holds two fighting knifes (right one with a 10" blade and left with an 8" blade) on his back with the handles pointing downward for easy drawing (he has gotten so smooth at his draw he can do it faster than most can spot. The slender knifes hide easily along the underside of his arms so his opponents often don't even know he is holding until the blades are singing towards them.) There are also two average daggers on the left side of the harness on his back, located just beside his left fighting dagger.
Background:
Rave was the fourth son (of seven) of Toray Corrigan, a veteran with the Abrissel city guard, as was his father before him, and his father, and his father, and so on for as long as the Corrigan family history had been kept. However, when born, Toray thought there was something different about his newest son. It was something he couldn't quite place, yet it was something he felt uneasy about. By the time Rave had reached five, it was obvious he was different than his brothers, even the two younger ones he had at that time. The most noticeable differences where his smaller build and less aggressive attitude.
This seemed to concern his father greatly, and unknown to the rest of the family, Toray visited a seer about his fourth son. The seer played with the fates to discover the destiny of the Corrigan boy. What was discovered broke Toray's heart. His fourth son would not follow the generations traditions of the Corrigan family of becoming a city guard. After his father heard this, Rave became Toray's disappointment. Nothing he could do could make up for his Destiny not leading to where his brothers' would. Among his own family he became an outcast . . . a true black sheep.
It was not long before resentment began to build in Rave's heart. Resentment towards his father, and to a lesser extent towards his brothers. By this time, all seven had been born and both mother and child died in childbirth of who would be the eighth Corrigan child of that generation. After years of trying to gain acceptance in his father's eyes by trying to prove he was good enough for the guard. However, this was all for nothing. No matter what he tried, no matter how much he strived for the personal perfection his brothers seemed to grasp naturally, he was not meant for that life.
These years that passed, brought realization to even Rave, he would not ever accomplish what his brothers could. When he finally decided his path would be walked with only himself and his father's disappointment, Rave ran away; stealing his father's personal dagger when he did. The next couple of years seemed to fly by and Rave found himself an outcast nearly anywhere he went. It was only after he joined with a few people from the mountain clans that he began to feel acceptance.
But all the while that resentment could not fade. He swore he would return and prove to his father that he should not have been shunned because of his untraditional destiny. Whether he had to defeat his father, Toray, or his brothers, or even every other guardsmen that would face him in personal combat . . . All would have to be seen.
