I'm waiting for the summer vacation until I can do some more RP-ing, school eats most of my time. But until then we can have some discussion on some issues, first one on the table : Map of Nevandaar. Some time ago on the . dat forum we discussed how would a map of Nevdaar look like. Tossing ideas around we came up with this: If you want to, we can use this as visual reference to our RP-ing.

It's a great map. I'll have to shift some of the information around but I think we can do it. I'll have to start think how though... hmmm... think think think think... hrmmm, my head hurts. I need a popsicle...

A short rewrite/map change is in order to fix the little discrepancies(spelling?) would be the first thing. The Holy Empire description will cause a map change. The river that is flowing near Temperance and coming from the mountains will be in elven hands . This is because the elves should have a direct border with the Legion held lands. And lets say that only one bridge remains in the hands of the Empire (so it can comunicate with the rest of its lands) protected by a rather small fortress but with a good and loyal garrison. Wotans Spine is ok. Tainted Lands. The canon of Disciples says that a rift opened in the middel of the Imperial lands. But the same canon says that at the end of D2 the Legion controls the Well in Elven Lands. That last fact is not present in the map. Here I should do more research. The Forests of Night. The word peninsula is the only thing that is in contradiction between the map and the description. OIne thing I should say is the fact that where it says "Alkmaar Ruins" the western part of the land is an arid place and where Sandburg is located. The eastern part can easily hold the Forest of the undead. Going wesward we have the Swamp then a savana-ish plain until at the western edge we have the Desert that spreads southward. The killing fields I suggest moving them in the northern part of the Undead lands across the Merchants Sea because there they are in contact with the rest of the races and these where Clan controled lands before D1 so it is a interesting setting where pockets of resistance can still exist and threthen the undead overlordship. The Eternal Glade is ok. The Dark Wildwood should be pinned down in the Elven Lands(in the north, in the south or both). Galleans Wood should be the generic term of any land that is populated by elves or they have a lordship over it. Contested Lands is ok. It is again a name for all the lands that are the border areas between the races. Also it should be noted that the map shows(in different colors) the areas the races influence but not necesarily control. So on the borther areas there can exist non-afilliated cities/lorddoms/kingdoms. Sandburg is an example. It is in the Undead influenced lands but the city is a City-State that has internal and external autonomy with a partnership with the Empire Remnant curently under Baron Emry of Abrissel. The Barrens Here I shall do a map change moving the Barens a little to the south so it will have an opening to the Sea in the South. And a river will split the Barrens from the the jure Imperial Lands because imperial authority is weak in those bandit/rebellion infected lands. Solonielle's Sea The description is fine. The problem arises in the location of Silver City. It can be placed in the Merchant Sea but it's not such a secret location to hide a race because of the ongoing merchant traffic. So the Norther Sea or Sea-in-the-South arise as the best locations. Sea-in-the-South will have a lore of growing commerce resulted from Sandburgs RP-ing. That in turn becomes a danger to Silver City. The one that will visit or play a Denizen can write about how they cope with the constant fear of being discovered, and how trough stealthy means they assure that the secret of Silver City remains a secret. Just a funny tought ;D Elven Corsairs These are only suggestions.

What I am thinking is that we use the same map, but recolor some of the territories. Give the Empire a little less land as taken up by the Alliance and the Legion, and shift a few of the locations to better coencide with where things are in the RP/game. Its tough when the game seemed to be more developed to give every race a chance to fight the other races rather than set up a map beforehand and make a more cohesive story perspective. Eh, what can you do. Once we get a map figured out, I'll change the RP stuff to reflect it. Then hopefully with more news of Disciples 3, we can get more interest here.

All right then. Tomorrow I'll see if i can post a blank map (with no colors). And you can use "Paint" and color what territory is held by who. Also you can write over the map what locations to add and what to take out.

Actually I'm sketching one out now. A nice thing to do at work, no? I'll probably have it done on the weekend and try to post it.

Okay, the map is almost done, but I'm trying to make it look better than it does. It kinda looks like crap, and I'm going for craptastic!

Demon dogs. I'll try to post it either this evening or tomorrow. I have such great ideas for it, but none of them make the map look any better. I'll just post the best one I have and if someone can do better, I'll forward them the blank.

*grumbles* Sorry, I'm out of town on a bit of a work related emergency and this completely slipped my mind. I've written myself a note and had my wife place another on my computer at home to remind me. I am flying back tonight and will either do it when I get home, or tomorrow. Sorry about the delay.
