Inexa, City of the Black Flames

[Deimos]

The city of Inexa starts out flat in the West, but as the city moves East, it elevates almost one hundred feet in the air. The cliff that is formed out of this sees over a river of lava that runs the eastern border of the city, making up the docks as well. On the top of this cliff sits Onyx Keep, a pentagon shaped building with large spires that pierce the sky. In this building is the Governor of the city, Decimus, who sits on his matching onyx throne to rule with an iron grip.

[MOD]All RPing done in the City of Inexa can be done here. Everyone is..."welcome," but those that are not of Legion loyalty tend to face a stiffer price.

Decimus watched out of the cathedral style window onto his city. His hands were clasped behind his back as his long black robe touched the hardened clay floor. Another stone spire was being erected to form a wall around the city. Excellent fortification for those trying to get in...or out. A grin crept across his dark red face as a knock on his throne room door broke him of his staring.

He stared at the door for a brief moment before responding to the knock. "Yes yes...come in." he said almost annoyed.

Mephisto marched into the room, an elf under his right arm. She lay limp and battered, offering no resistance to Mephisto's strong grip. Decimus cocked an eyebrow. "I told you not to bring trash into the throne room," Decimus mocked.

Mephisto smiled. "I thought you could use another concubine my lord." came the devil's reply. Decimus stared back out onto the cityscape. A grin still decorated his face. "Yes. That will do nicely."

Mephisto bowed before walking back towards the door. "I shall fit her in her appropriate attire then." With a quick nod, he shut the door behind him, leaving Decimus back to his thoughts. The smell of sulfur filled the area as slowly, another stone tooth was being erected. Another concubine... thought Decimus as he reached for his goblet. [/i]That is just wonderful...[/i]

Kreoss limped in through the city gates, Feora strung across his shoulder. Behind them, Decimus coasted, a scowl across his face. "That was pathetic, and not enough was learned."

Mephisto came running towards the gate, not shocked at the damage a simple band of Hordes could really do. After all, Decimus and the rest of them had seen first hand what could be done by the Hordes. It was scary to think that a large group of them had been in Inexa prior to Decimus' reign. Yet that was history at this point. At least, Mephisto thought it was. Decimus, on the other hand, seemed unsure.

"My lord, what is it you wish to do now?" came Mephisto's first response to the tattered group. He knew better than to simply just ask directly how Decimus was doing. A resounding boom echoed across the city as the last of the Stone Teeth were erected.

Decimus cleared his throat. "There is no time to rest. Inexa faces danger from the outside, one that I am unsure as to the source of."

Mephisto nodded with the dual answer, one that he had been hoping for. "The Stone Teeth are done as you requested as well my Lord."

Decimus stared at the ground. Dried blood was still splattered on it from the rebellion. It reminded him that Inexa was still prone to more assaults, although the Teeth helped a bit. His eyes pierced through the ashen sky as he looked up towards the heavens. Looking back at what was still left of the city, Decimus finally let his gaze lock into Mephisto. "We are not done building yet. Order the resurrection of the Demon Bethel."

Mephisto was slightly taken back by this. It was a bold move. One that would signify that Inexa was stronger than it really was. "With all due respect my Lord, that might be considered a risky move. Once people realize we have a Demon Bethel..."

But he was stopped short as a dark hand came slapping him across the face. "Do not question my order Mephisto. I do not tolerate insubordination, nor do I believe my Wisdom to be less than yours."

Mephisto bowed immediately, realizing he had just made a possible fatal error. "My mistake my Lord. I am just concerned for your health, as that of the city's. I do not understand your choice."

Decimus cocked an eyebrow. "Comprehension is not a requisite of cooperation. Build the Demon Bethel immediately." Decimus looked up towards his keep. "I am going to go have some fun with my new concubine..."

Decimus walked over to the Smoldering Pit. It was at the base of the mountain that Onyx Keep rested on, and therefore, was not too far away from Decimus' lair. He entered, as the few attendants who ran the place bowed before removing themselves from his presence. Quietly, he sat down, and opened up a book. He knew what he was looking for, and he knew that he must be ready with the desired spell, for Inexa would need greater defenses in the coming times, especially with the party and the Bethel now in place.

Hours passed before Decimus finally cracked a smile. It had taken him a while, for he was new to the whole researching process. After piecing the components and incantations of the spell together, he was ready to rewrite it to suit his needs.

In the background, a pounding of an anvil pierced the Lord of Inexa's ears. Another building was being re-erected for the glory of Inexa, and subsequently, Decimus. A Dark Mission, where he could call forth the power of Gargoyles to do his bidding. It was only a matter of time before the City of Inexa would once again be of great prominence...
